Three Phase has three separate circuits with phases 120 Degrees apart. You need three separate transformers, one for each phase. The primary on each is fed with a single phase and produces an output of a single phase on 208 (Y) or 240 (Delta) VAC. Depending on whether the circuit is Wye or Delta, you can have multiple voltages.
Electricity in United States - voltage and frequency. All power sockets in United States provide a standard voltage of 120V with a standard frequency of 60Hz. You can use all your equipment in United States if the outlet voltage in your own country is between 100V-127V. This is mostly the case in the US, Canada and countries in South America.
I purchased a new air conditioner 230v/208v volt 250v-15A. However, plug face does not match wall outlet. Wall outlet has two big flat pins and one round pin and is bigger than the air conditioner plug face. Will I able to use a plug adapter or extension cord?
Should work perfectly - the voltage in the European Union is 230V nowadays (NOT 220V anymore). There used to be a 240V mains voltage in Australia and the UK - but they've also gone to 230V now. In practice, although the nominal voltage is 230 V, it can be a bit (up to 10%!) higher or lower - normally, all equipment is designed to accept this.
Figure 2: Generalized AC power distribution components. There’s a lot of confusion about voltage values. You’ll see references to 220V appliances, 230V, 240V, and NEMA (the National Electrical Manufacturer’s Association) connectors are even rated at 250V.
Voltage and Its Discontents Almost all electronics sold in the past ten years can run on 100 to 240 volts and 50 to 60 hertz. (You can look at your power adapter, like the one above, to double check.)
The other half of the Eu gear is already 100-250v 50/60 Hz, like the Hypex amps. if it was me, I would: check the label at the back of the gear. Get a sparky to install some 230 outlets. Order some Schuko outlets for the sparky to attach to the 230v…. unless they have IEC ends or whatever the computer looking inlet is.
Electrical Contractor, Electrical Engineer. Jul 22, 2020. #13. That is a "Special" air compressor duty motor. It does not follow the rules on NEMA horsepower. You can buy them at Northern Hydraulics as an example. I've put them on 30 amp plug/receptacles an no one ever questioned it.

can i use 250v in 230v
